NRL tips

Last round again was rather unsuccessful, both NRL and SuperRugby multis gone after the first game, bitterly disappointed with how my Titans played in particular. Can only hope that things this week can improve, so saying that, back to basics, no multi bet just going straight single bets this week. Nothing worse than having a tip that you had a fair bit of confidence in go to shit quicker than you can say Dave Taylor is fat. For the record, he escaped a ban but the club should drop him on last week’s effort alone, my 2c. SuperRugby and AFL previews to come later

NRL tips in GREEN bets in RED:

Tigers v Cowboys – 2 small losses in a row against 7 straight for Wests, with not much confidence tipping the Cowboys here, played well at home but away just unsure. Should win but no bet this one.

Bulldogs v Broncos – Bulldogs VERY poor last week and have been too inconsistent for mine. Just so hard to read where the Dogs are at now, would like to think at their best they win this. Broncos dominant over the Titans, if they can bring that form on the plane they should win, but depends if they can even get a full team down, injury list a mile long! Tipping Broncos bet here is to win H2H at $2.60.

Dragons v Panthers – My big roughie for the week, liked how Penrith played against the Storm a fortnight ago and last weeks mauling of the Warriors was crazy, Dragons won’t let even half of those chances occur! St George though schooled the Eels in the end last round and at home deserve to be favorites. Tipping Penrith to cause an upset, Line is 6.5  but feel if they have a chance of winning it will be in a tight game, so to win by 1-12 at $4 is my bet.

Roosters v Storm – Sydney just held onto the win against North Queensland last week but previously had been in superb touch. This week is a very different scenario, not many teams get the chance to face the premiers Melbourne at home as red hot favorites. A draw in an epic game Monday night was fitting as there was nothing to separate the Storm and Manly, but general consensus is the Storm aren’t at their best right now. Like a wounded animal, the Chooks need to pounce (Roosters don’t tend to pounce, or attack really?) and grab the win here. VERY tempting $2.35 for the Storm though, not often in recent memory have they been over $2, but tipping the Roosters here, no bet for either side but like the total points score line, over 32.5points at $1.90 is my bet here.

Sea Eagles v Raiders – A lot to like about both sides, Manly to travel to Melbourne and draw would feel like a small win, and at home at Fortress Brooky as the locals call it, will start faves as expected. Watch for Lyon and Ferguson, ($2.50 and $2 for anytime tryscorer) both in some great form for both their sides, but Watmough has been the best for Manly recently. The Raiders tend to be leaky in defence and for this reason I think Manly should win this reasonably comfortably, and cover the -6.5 line.

Eels v Titans – Just can not tip my Titans. Eels haven’t been great but at home have been quite reasonable. Tipping Parra but mainly from how poor Gold Coast were last week, put in that sort of performance too often and coach Cartwright might not be so safe. Not to say the Eels were any better! This game will be an away match of sorts for both sides, playing in Mudgee, hear the grounds there are superb so it’ll be great to see some bush rugby league. No confidence in the tip, therefore no bet!

Warriors v Knights – The kiwis were beyond awful last week, which led to THIS article from @LeagueFreak who says in no uncertain terms that the club made a poor decision in hiring Matt Elliot as coach. Hard to disagree, and harder to fathom the fall from the Warriors, GF 2 seasons ago now anchored down the bottom of the table. Meanwhile, Newcastle come off a very strong 44-8 win over the Dogs and honestly, would have to be big question marks over the side if they don’t win in NZ. Tipping Newcastle, tempted to go the Knights line, but knowing the Warriors, expect the unexpected, no bet!

Sharks v Rabbitohs – Big game for the Sharks this, have to think at some stage if they want to be seen as a premiership contender they need to get a big scalp, winning their last 3 now gives them an excellent chance this weekend. The Rabbits though have trounced just about everyone in their way and rightly so sit top of the table, Inglis in some amazing form but then again, there’s a few going well in the Green and Red! Hard to tip against Souths right now, no bet in this one.
