NRL tips

With the first State of Origin next week from the Olympic Stadium in Sydney, there are just the 4 NRL games this round, and it’s just a tad hard to get excited for these games when the best players going around will be out of action until Wednesday. Saying that, the NRL sure know how to milk the most out of the situation and have one game everyday bar Tuesday for the next 6. Last week was my worst ever for NRL tipping, just the 2 wins from 8 in an absolute shocker, and only 2 bets were winners. I have had better weeks is an understatement! Part of this was tipping on form from last week, which normally isn’t the worst idea when making selections, except in round 11 it was the ultimate Chumps to Champs week, check out these turnarounds from just one week’s games:

Warriors: Lost by 56 rd 10, won by 16 rd 11 / turnaround of 72points!

Titans: Lost by 26 rd 10, won by 38 rd 11 / turnaround of 64 points!

Tigers: Lost by 44 rd 10, win by 2 rd 11 / turnaround of 46points!

Bulldogs: Lost by 36 rd 10, win by 10 rd 11 / turnaround of 46points!

Incredible effort from the Warriors to not only turn around that horrible performance against the Panthers the week before, but actually hold onto a lead and then go further ahead against Newcastle. Below are this weeks tips in GREEN and Bet in RED,

Bulldogs v Dragons: The Dragons looked very poor against Penrith who knocked up a 19-0 win, the first time infact any Dragons side had been held scoreless at Kogarah. But as mentioned before with other chumps to Champs, who knows what sort of effect this will have. But the Dogs looked good in defense not letting the Broncos get many chances thru, and in a plus for the side, Barba didn’t get picked for Origin so will add a big boost to the attack. Tipping Dogs here.

Rabbitohs v Knights: Rarely from now on will you get the Rabbits at more than $1.50, much like the Storm (who went out to almost $2.50 last week before dominating the Roosters, what a way to return to form!) The Knights were poor, didn’t make the most of their chances and just failing to see why some picked them as a smokey for this year against other sides that are going much better. A sneaky chance for Newcastle maybe, if they use the Cronulla blueprint shown on Monday night on how to defeat Souths, stop the big men! But Knights at their best I doubt can beat the Rabbits here, tipping Souths and only bet here is the H2H win at $1.45. Multi it into QLD to win Origin 1 Wednesday, or with some of the weekend’s SuperRugby matches.

Titans v Cowboys: Dominant display in Mudgee from the Titans after a very disappointing weekend beforehand, the Cowboys simply should never have lost to Wests and it’s not a big bold call but I’ll say it anyways, no chance of premiership in 2013. While both sides will lose players for Origin, the guys North Queensland lose are more vital for them to pick up a win, so tipping my mob the Titans, but no bet here.

Broncos v Warriors: Broncos at home, they should win this, but it’s impossible to know which Warriors side turn up, especially as they would be more likely to have a full strength side against the Broncs missing Origin stars. No bet here.

As far as Origin, I will only make the one prediction now, Queensland to win game 1, many other tweeters will be making quality in depth previews so I’ll find the best to retweet.
